night of light

Every year, OC United puts on a Domestic Abuse Awareness night in the month of October. An identity was created for the event, Night of Light, to be used year after year for digital and print marketing.

A large amount of the community that OC United serves is mainly Spanish speaking. It was important that there were Spanish invitations to the event, especially considering the fact that they recently launched a Domestic Abuse Support Group in Spanish.

The social media marketing campaign was heavy and consistent for this event, and overall very successful. There were several static posts made related to Domestic Abuse Awareness month, as well as the event itself to promote the initiative. The event posts were made in the same gold and cream tones. The general posts made to create awareness of the month were made in purple, since Domestic Abuse Awareness is associated with purple.

 

take aways

A big part of OC United is giving people small items to remind them of specific messages. We wanted to create stickers and bookmarks for people to take home to have as a small reminder. We also didn’t want to use the term “Night of Light” so they could be repurposed at tabling events if there were left overs.
